The Department of Health has officially deemed the COVID-19 virus in Hawaii as ENDEMIC, in simple terms: found regularly in the population, as the daily infection rates on Oahu significantly increase.
As we mirror and follow the mandates set forth by Governor Ige and Mayor Caldwell (closure of parks, beaches, ban of large gatherings, etc), BBC will also act swiftly to ensure the safety of the clients, their families, and our staff.
With that being said — EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY until further notice Bobby Benson Center is:
• Suspending all Sunday Family Visits
• Suspending all Visitations
- No visitors, EVEN BY APPOINTMENT. All will be completed via TeleHealth (zoom, phone, etc), as we have been doing 99% of the time since the pandemic began.
Exception: When youths belongings are being picked up after an elopement or discharge - we will meet the guardian outside the front gate - NOT the lobby.
Exception: Intakes where guardian and/or PO and/or CC is accompanying/transporting youth to Safe House or Main Campus
